About Israeli diplomatic mission

About Nord Stream 2 and gas talks

This is mentioned in the message of the congressman's website. The official described the Nord Stream II as "a project being supported by Russia to spread its malign influence into Europe". H.R.4818, the Protecting Europe’s Energy Security Act of 2019 foresees "sanctions targeting pipe-laying vessels and foreign entities essential to the construction of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline in the Baltic Sea".
After Denmark's permission for the building of the Nord Stream 2 in its waters the project of the Russian Gazprom can be stopped only by the Western sanctions. Head of Naftogaz-Ukraine NJSC Andriy Kobolev stated it on his Facebook page."We expected this decision during the autumn. The principle position of Denmark delayed the project for some time but the geopolitical weapon can not be stopped by the tools, which regulate only trade relations. The effective counteracting to the aggression in today's world is sanctions of the Western countries. We are planning to support our Ukrainian diplomatists in this direction as much as possible," says the message.
President of Russia Vladimir Putin insists on negotiations on direct supplies of Russian gas to Ukraine and Kyiv's renouncing of arbitration claims against Gazprom, RBC reports. "We are ready for constructive work both on pumping gas through Ukraine and on gas supplies to Ukraine, moreover with a significant reduction of price unlike actual one, at which Ukrainian consumers of Russian gas receive it today," Putin said.
