About Donbas conflict 

The disengagement process in Petrivske (Donetsk region) began. Demining works in Petrivske and Bohdanivka began, too. However, Russian forces and pro-Kremlin mercenaries continue firing, which results in combat casualties for Ukrainian troops. At least three Ukrainian defenders deceased this week.

Russian armed bandits destroyed a civilian house in the vicinities of Kamyanka, Donetsk region. No casualties were reported.

Over 170,000 citizens of temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine received Russian passports.

Ukraine’s Defense Minister Andriy Zahorodniuk claimed that Ukrainian forces will return to its positions in Donbas, if Russian troops and their mercenaries breach the ceasefire.

French Ambassador to Ukraine claimed his country would send peacekeepers to Ukraine if that was necessary.

Donbas conflict veteran and his wife suffered a brutal attack by culprits in Kyiv on November 11; they ended up at a hospital, plugged in to life support systems. The attackers were detained soon after the incident.

Russia claimed that the date of the upcoming Normandy Summit could be discussed after the troops are disengaged in Donbas. Later, Russian leader Putin offered to disengage troops all over the division line in eastern Ukraine; currently, the disengagement takes place just in three key points.

Another interesting development took place in the investigation of MH17 case. Joint Investigation Team (JIT), which holds the investigation, published the new record made at the beginning of July 2014 with the participation of the militants and high-ranking Russian officials as JIT report states.

About land reform in Ukraine

Rallies against the land reform and land sales have been taking place in Ukraine.

Prime Minister of Ukraine spoke on land market reform on November 13. Holos party MP believes that considering land sale may cause rift in Parliament and split within country.

In the end, Ukrainian Parliament adopts bill on land sale market opening. 240 MPs voted in favor of it - 227 of them are representatives of the Servant of the People party. Ukraine's PM Honcharuk gestures his happiness as to parliament's support of the land market law raising both fingers up.

Ukraine’s parliament also intends to allow foreigners to buy non-agricultural land plots outside built-up areas.

About Crimea

Ukraine's Foreign Ministry condemned Russian court's illegal decision to convict six Crimean Tatars, who were the suspects in the case of "membership in Hizb Ut-Tahrir", the Islamist organization that is considered a terrorist movement in Russia

Besides, the occupant authority of the Russia-annexed Crimea laid the water pipeline to Perevalne village, which hosts a military unit base.

On November 15, the UN General Assembly has supported the draft of the updated resolution on Crimea.

Moreover, it was reported that in summer 2019, Tu-22M3, Russian Air Forces strategic bombers trained in launching missile strikes on Ukraine's southern city of Odesa.

About Normandy Format meeting

Last Sunday media published new piece of information that Normandy Four highest level meeting may take place on November 24 or 26.However, there is still no date for Normandy Summit despite Ukraine’s fulfillment of necessary conditions. Kremlin is not eager to meet Zelensky before Normandy Format summit. And here comes Kazakhstani ex-leader Nazarbayev, acting in “Lukashenko” style trying to become a new “peacemaker” and offer Kazakhstan for the meeting of the two warring presidents.

About defective armored vests

On November 11, the restrictive measure was chosen for the Major-General of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine who is suspected in the criminal proceeding relating to the acquisition of defective armored vests for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Later Head of State Investigation Bureau Roman Truba reported that ballistic examination showed that 70% of bulletproof vests, which were purchased by the Department of Material Support of the Ministry of Defense, were shot through.

About IMF mission

IMF mission came to Ukraine on November 14. Poul Thomsen, the director of the IMF's European Department expressed hope the sides will be able to reach quick progress in the talks.  

In the light of the mission’s arrival, the statements of Ukrainian oligarch Ihor Kolomoysky sound at least discouraging. One of Ukraine’s wealthiest people, Kolomoysky confidently said that Ukraine should withdraw from developing relations with the IMF and take Russia’s money instead.

About sports

Racist scandal occurred during a football game between Dynamo Kyiv and Shakhtar Donetsk. The incident took place in Kharkiv on November 10, as Dynamo fans verbally attacked Brazilian players from the opposing team. As the result, police opened a criminal case regarding the occurred events.

Ukraine manages to win in a friendly match against Estonia. The match was intense, which was partly caused by the team’s experimental line-up. However, Yellow-Blues were able to score a goal at the last seconds of the match and secured 1:0 victory.

Ukraine handed a note to Japan due to the participation of the so-called Donetsk People’s Republic’s team in the IX Karate World Cup. Representatives of the organization's secretariat confirmed the fact of the invitation.
