Russian armed mercenaries landed numerous attacks on Petrivske, the area of disengagement of opposing forces in Donbas. The pro-Kremlin armed gangs used artillery to attack the area. The Ukrainian side of the Joint Control and Coordination Centre (JCCC) condemned the attacks.

Drones of the OSCE SMM spotted multiple rocket launchers of Russian mercenaries deployed with the violation of the line of withdrawal. The weapons were spotted in the occupied territory of Luhansk region.

Ukraine's Armed Forces have implemented a comprehensive system of preventive measures against acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI), including those caused by Chinese coronavirus, COVID-19. The press office of Ukraine's Defense Ministry reported that on March 4. "As of the beginning of March 2020, we conduct constant monitoring of infectious diseases among the staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces", reads the message. All medical centers and hospitals held classes on the functioning of hospitals in conditions of the strict anti-epidemic regime, which emerges when a patient with suspected coronavirus is detected.


Change of government

The whole Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers changed in one day. Including Prime-Minister, who was Ukraine’s youngest-ever prime minister. After just six months on the job. Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky initiated the dismissal and reshuffles, which were supported by the Parliament.

Covid-19: first case in Ukraine

On March 3, Ukraine had the first confirmed case of COVID-19 of coronavirus.It’s a man from Chernivtsi, Western Ukraine, who just finished his voyage to Italy. All the necessary measures were taken – the man was hospitalized and isolated. Though the patient's wife was also put into observation box, without any symptoms, due to the hysteria of her neighbors – they demanded to isolate the woman, otherwise they threatened to block the road.

Meanwhile, people evacuated from Chinese Wuhan due to coronavirus outbreak ended their observation in Novi Sanzhary. The evacuees spent 14 days in the quarantine according to the recommendations of the World Health Organization. People infected with Covid-19 were not spotted during the observation.


Ukraine’s Viktor Postol will face WBC and WBO light-welterweight champion Jose Ramirez on May 9. They were supposed to fight on February 1, but their bout was postponed due to coronavirus outbreak in China.

Two Ukrainian basketball stars faced each other on the court: Oleksiy Len and Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk represented the opposite teams in NBA match that took place on March 1.

Mattel honored Ukrainian sabre fencer Olga Harlan with the Barbie doll. The doll is dressed in a fencing branded suit, with a rapier and a helmet mask, which is decorated in the colors of the Ukrainian flag.
