About Donbas conflict
President Zelensky claimed that the local election in Donbas would only take place under Ukrainian legislation.
National Security and Defense Council Secretary Oleksiy Danylov quoted the President who insisted that the problem of the occupied area cannot be solved by military means, and it has to be solved by the means of political and diplomatic measures.
National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine has discussed and developed five scenarios of re-integration of the occupied areas of Donbas.
Hnutove checkpoint in Donbas was not working on December 4 and 5. The checkpoint was closed due to the modernization of the power network.
The UN Human Rights Office called on the Ukrainian authorities to investigate the looting among military personnel in the Donbas.
Ukraine could go for Plan B in the occupied Donbas and build the wall on the division line with these territories. Such scenario is possible if Russia refuses from peace during the Normandy summit in Paris. Andriy Yermak, the advisor of President Volodymyr Zelensky said so during his speech at Chatham House in London.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky plans to offer the idea to create the municipal guard in the occupied Donbas. It is supposed to consist of Ukraine's National Guard fighters, OSCE members and representatives of so-called "people's republics".

About Odesa college tragedy
On December 4, the fire started at Odesa college for economics, law and hotel and catering business. Later fire was localized. The same day, police opened the criminal case due to the fire.
Moreover, there was no alarm or warning at Odesa college for economics, law and hotel and restaurant business when the fire occurred. Many students were not immediately informed about the outbreak.
On December 5, special squad and experts from Kyiv have arrived to search victims of fire at Odesa college for economics, law and hotel and catering business and help clear the blocks.
On December 6, the rescuers have given up hope to find survivors at the building of Odesa college.
As of December 6, three people killed, 12 people are missing, 29 people hospitalized.
About Crimea’s return
This week, Zelensky stated that the United States can help Ukraine return Crimea back. The President suggested negotiations between Ukraine, Russia and the USA.
Later, when Zelensky met with Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven, Löfven said that process of Crimea’s return would be difficult.
On Thursday, Ukraine's Foreign Ministry summoned Kazakh ambassador over stance towards annexation of Crimea. Earlier, Kazakh leader Kasym-Jomart Tokayev said he did not consider the events of February and March 2014 annexation of Ukraine's peninsula. After the meeting, both sides have confirmed that they remain committed to principles of mutual respect of independence, state sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability of borders. These principles are stated in the 1994 Agreement on Friendship and Cooperation between Ukraine and Kazakhstan.
At the same time, Security Service’s archives prepare records about Crimean Tatar movement. The SBU archives also studies National Liberation Movement in 1920s and the Great Purge of 1930s.
About Political prisoners - torture in Russian prisons
On December 4, Ukraine’s ombudsman Lyudmyla Denisova reported that Ukrainian political prisoner Volodymyr Yakymenko tortured in Russian prison and appealed to her college in Russia Tatiana Moskalkova.
Later judges of South District Military Court of Rostov-on-Don delivered a sentence to Crimean Tatar from Sevastopol Enver Seitosmanov. He is sentenced to 17 years in the colony with a strict regime with the restriction of the freedom for a year for political and religious convictions.
On December 6, it was reported that the health of Crimean Tatar Dzhemil Gafarov who was illegally imprisoned has critically deteriorated.
