Football and Paralympic Games

Ukraine's Paralympic team puts up quite a performance in the ongoing Paralympics. As of Friday, September 3, the squad has collected 93 medals (22 gold, 44 silver and 26 bronze). When it comes to achievements of separate athletes and new records, one will definitely remember the performance of Maksym Krypak. The swimmer collected five medals alone and set the new Paralympic record in men's 200 m medley.

Meanwhile, Ukraine's national football team played the away game of 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification. Oleksandr Petrakov’s team stood against Kazakhstan. The Ukrainians led the way 2-1 until the added time; eventually, the Kazakhs sneaked the victory from the Yellow Blues, making the final score 2-2. This complicates matters for Ukraine, which needs more victories to preserve chances to qualify to the group stage. More qualification games are coming up, and there's France coming as the undisputed leader in the group; it's not going to be a walk in the park for the Yellow Blues.
