Law enforcers determined the individual, who Vladyslav Voloshyn, the acting director of one of the municipal enterprises of the city, was corresponding with before death. Elena Berezhnaya, Mykolaiv National Police Spokesperson, said on the air of 112 Ukraine.
When asked whether the witnesses were questioned, including the individual Voloshyn was corresponding with, Elena Berezhnaya noted:
“The individual is determined, but I can say, who was questioned and I what way, the number of persons and where they are from – it is the secrecy of the investigation”.
The police reports that Ukraine’s National Police handed the case over to the Criminal Investigation Division, where they will consider all possible theories of the tragedy.
Concerning Oleksiy Savchenko, the Chairman of Mykolaiv Regional Government Department, the police states:
“If the investigation decides to question the Chairman of Mykolaiv Regional Government Department and report this, and this information is socially useful, we will make it public”.
Earlier, on March 18, in Mykolayiv, a 29-year-old acting director of one of the region's communal enterprises committed suicide by shooting himself from a gun in his apartment. The police opened a criminal proceeding under the Criminal Code article on intentional suicide.
Later, the journalist Andriy Lokhmatov published one of Voloshyn’s correspondences, where he mentions the pressure from Oleksiy Savchenko, the Chairman of Mykolaiv Regional Government Department, the desire to leave the airport, the suicide thoughts that were in his mind all the time.
“I am not afraid of him. I do not want to leave children without a father, but thoughts about suicide stuck in my head”.
Oleksiy Savchenko, the Chairman of Mykolaiv Regional Government Department, is now on vacation. On his Facebook page, Savchenko expressed condolences to Voloshyn’s family.
It should be mentioned that Vladyslav Voloshyn - was one of the Donbas conflict heroes. He was awarded the Order of Courage of the third degree. The Russian authorities accused him of attacking the Malaysian Boeing MH17, shot down over Donbas in the summer of 2014. Later this version was completely refuted by the investigation of the prosecutor's office of the Netherlands and Ukraine.
