The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has appointed Herman Halushchenko as the Energy Minister. 305 MPs supported the decision.
“In accordance with the Constitution of Ukraine, on the submission of the Servant of the People faction that has the right of the coalition, I submit the note on the appointment of Herman V. Halushchenko as the Energy Minister of Ukraine,” PM Denys Shmygal stated.
Herman Halushchenko worked at the prosecutor’s office and the Foreign Ministry; he was also deputy head of the presidential administration; in 2013-2014, he occupied the position of executive director on legal support of Energoatom. In May 2020, he became Vice President of the company.
According to mass media, Halushchenko is close to President’s Assistant Serhiy Shefir.
