Hepatitis outbreak in Mykolaiv: 55 people hospitalized, 47 with confirmed diagnosis

As at January 22, 47 people remain to stay at the hospitals of Mykolaiv with the confirmed diagnosis ‘Hepatitis A’. The proper statement was published on the website of the Healthcare Department of Mykolaiv Regional State Administration.

’54 people stay at the regional infectious hospital. The diagnosis is confirmed for 46 people and it was not confirmed for seven people. 21 people were discharged. One more child stays in the regional children infectious hospital, the diagnosis is confirmed for one child and it was not confirmed in three cases, 18 children were discharged’, the message said.

As we reported earlier the number of people diseased by hepatitis A increased up to 98, including 22 children in Mykolaiv. According to preliminary information, the infection was found in drinking water, which is now being checked.

Also, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine says that despite the outbreak of hepatitis A in Mykolaiv region, there’s no epidemics of the disease in Ukraine.
