Tatiana Moskalkova, the Commissioner for Human Rights of Russia sent the information on the observation of rights of Pavlo Gryb, the citizen of Ukraine detained in Russia. The press service of Valeria Lutkovska, the Ukrainian Commissioner for Human Rights reported this.
According to Moskalkova, preliminary, she sent the requests to the authoritative bodies that possess the information on issues raised by Valeria Lutkovska earlier.
It was reported that Pavlo Gryb passed the medical check and was taken under regular observation due to the chronic diseases after his arrival to the Krasnodar detention center.
‘Moreover, Pavlo Gryb passed the medical check on the presence of the serious disease included into the list of the serious diseases that is the obstacle for the detentions in the custody of the suspected or accused persons on September 18, 2017, at Krasnodar affiliated emergency care hospital. The medical commission did not establish the presence of such disease’, the press service said.
‘At the moment the general state of health of Pavlo Gryb is estimated by the doctors as the satisfactory, he is under the dynamic observation of the doctor and gets the prescribed treatment on an outpatient basis. All medications are provided in accordance with the recommendations of the doctors and due to the present illnesses’, Moskalkova wrote.
Moreover, according to Moskalkova, Pavlo Gryb had a meeting with the workers of the Consulate General of Ukraine on September 18, 2017, when Gryb did not complain about the incarceration conditions, state of health or observation of his rights and interests.
Ukrainian Consul visited Pavlo Gryb on November 20. The detention center officials gave only seven minutes for the meeting, and the interlocutors weren’t allowed to speak Ukrainian. The consul brought medicine for the teenager whose health is in poor condition and getting worse in detention, but it wasn’t allowed through.
As it was reported earlier, 19-years old Pavlo Gryb got lost in Belarus on August 24. The young man was later found at a prison in Krasnodar, Russia. He told a Russian lawyer that he had been kidnapped in Belarus and brought to Russia, where he is accused preparing a terrorist attack on a Russian school. The Ukrainian's lawyer said that Gryb was arrested in Russia in absentia.
Earlier the ECHR demanded from Russia the statement on Pavlo Gryb's health. Also, he offered to send his doctors to the pretrial detention center and the Ukrainian side sent the doctors to him on October 11 without waiting for a permission of Russia. However, the Russian side did not let them see Gryb.
