The health of Crimean Tatar Dzhemil Gafarov who was illegally imprisoned has critically deteriorated. Ukrainian Ombudsman Lydmyla Denisova reported this on her Facebook page.

Denisova urged her Russian counterpart Tatiana Moskalkova to organize medical assistance and full examination for Gafarov. According to Ukrainian Ombudsman, the political prisoner has kidney disease, problems with the intestinal tract, heart and ear.

“In addition, Ukrainian political prisoner appealed to the penitentiary facility he is being held, but he was not provided with medical aid,” Lydmyla Denisova wrote.

As it was reported earlier, Rustem Sheikhaliev, Tofik Abdulgaziev, Raim Aivazov, Bilyal Adilov, Dzhemil Gafarov, Farkhod Bazarov, Rustem Seitkhalilov amd Shaban Umerov will remain in custody until February 2020.

In October 2017, Russian law enforcers arrested six residents of Bakhchisarai in annexed Crimea – Timur Ibragimov, Marlen Asanov, Memet Beliyalov, Seiran Saliev, Server Zekeryaev and Ernest Ametov. In addition, on May 21, 2018, the coordinator of Crimean Solidarity association Server Mustafayev and Eden Smailov. The charges against were attached to the same case.
