The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has instructed the Ministry of Healthcare to prepare and submit a draft act on the distribution of $5,7 million to meet the needs of healthcare facilities that conduct preliminary diagnostics of Covid-19, consumables for the diagnosis of coronavirus disease, the press service of the Cabinet reports.

Minister of Healthcare Viktor Lyashko addressed the Cabinet of Ministers during a meeting on October 6.

He explained that these funds are needed for the purchase of rapid tests to determine the antigen of the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 and kits for the selection of biomaterial by PCR.

“The coronavirus delta strain is spreading much faster than the baseline strain, so we need to respond quickly - track and check contacts. Access to testing should be expanded,” said Lyashko.

These are funds from the budget program “Measures related to the fight against acute respiratory disease Covid-19 caused by the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, and its consequences”.

The draft act on the distribution of budget funds prepared by the Ministry of Healthcare and the Ministry of Finance should be submitted for consideration at the next meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
