The Ministry of Health said that cases of the coronavirus strain Omicron have not yet been recorded in Ukraine. The ministry will update the information. This was reported by the press service of the government.
"According to the Ministry of Health, no Omicron variant has been detected in Ukraine to date. For his part, the Prime Minister instructed the Minister of Health to update daily information on the new variant," the message reads.
In turn, Prime Minister Denys Shmygal instructed Health Minister Viktor Lyashko to update information on the new strain daily.
The day before, the World Health Organization said that a mutation in the coronavirus "Omicron" was detected in at least 38 countries, but no one has died from it. However, experts warned that in the next few months, the spread of the new strain could cause more than half of Covid-19 infections in Europe.
