“If the first vaccination is given with Moderna vaccine, the second can be done with Comirnaty/Pfizer-BioNTech and vice versa,” the statement reads.
The ministry said that if a mRNA vaccine from the same manufacturer is not available, a vaccine on a mRNA platform from another manufacturer can be used for the second vaccination. At the same time, the department notes that the combination of Moderna and Comirnaty/Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines is safe and effective.
The interval between the first and second doses will be 28 days.
