Against the background of a possible resignation, Ukraine’s Health Minister Maksym Stepanov recorded a video message in which he stated that he had not written any resignation papers. He said this in his video message, which he posted on Facebook.
"I did not file for resignation, because I am responsible before the people," Stepanov said.
The Minister of Health stated that he would not watch "doctors get driven to the stall," and the medical system was destroyed for years. At the same time, the minister is convinced that the reforms should be implemented by professionals, and not adjusted to the political situation and benefits.
Earlier, on May 14 it was reported that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine received the filing from the chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Denys Shmygal about resignation of the head of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine Maksym Stepanov.
The day before, Zelensky's team explained that they wanted to fire Health Minister Stepanov because of problems with contracts to supply the coronavirus vaccine, as well as because of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau's close attention to the minister.
