The President's Office(OP) head Andriy Yermak was elected Chairman of the Presidium of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities. This decision was made at a meeting of the Congress on July 29, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
"The vote is unanimous. We have exercised the right to elect a chairman of the Presidium of Congress. I congratulate you, Mr. Yermak," OP Deputy Head Kyrylo Tymoshenko said.
The OP head thanked for the trust and expressed hope that the body will fulfill all the tasks set by the president.
As it was reported earlier, the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities was created by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in February 2021. This body aims to deal with problems in the regions of the country. The Congress, chaired by the President of Ukraine, will consist of the Chamber of Local Authorities and the Chamber of Regions, which are to delegate three people each to the presidium of this body that will be represented by senior officials of the country.
