Prymorsky court of Odesa has prolonged the arrest of Petros Sarkisyan, the head of the summer camp in Odesa that was caught on fire and three children died, for 60 days. Sarkisian went on a hunger strike as a protest, UNN reports.
As we reported earlier, on September 15 at 23:34, the wooden building of the camp "Victoria" in Odesa was caught on fire. At that time, 42 children were in the building. The State Emergency Service reported that because of the wind, the fire spread rapidly over flammable wooden structures (which, as it was later established, weren’t covered with property fire protection substance) and neighboring buildings were also threatened. Rescuers reported that the tragedy was also followed by lack of the water in fire reservoir (it was filled by a third) and low pressure in the existing fire hydrant. Moreover, the fire alarm was not working for months when the tragedy happened.
