Head of the Institute of the National Memory of Ukraine Volodymyr Viatrovych is against the proposition of President-elect Volodymyr Zelensky to hold his inauguration on May 19. Viatrovych wrote this on Facebook.

“The date is very inappropriate, as this is the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Political Repressions, according to the order of the President of Ukraine in 2007. This is a morning day during which mourning ceremonies take place around the whole country, the entertainment events and entertainment TV programs are limited as well,” Head of the Institute of the National Memory of Ukraine said.
