Kyiv Pechersky District Court obliged the State Investigation Bureau to include the information about violations committed by Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko in the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations, as lawyer Masi Nayyem reported.
It is about Lutsenko’s offence provided by the Criminal Code article on disclosing of information on the case of Kherson public activist Kateryna Handziuk.
“In 24 hours the State Investigation Bureau has to provide an excerpt from the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations,” the lawyer specified.
He also noted that the State Investigation Bureau has refused to register the criminal proceeding against Lutsenko. Then, the case was passed to the court.
Kateryna Handziuk was known for her activity in fighting corruption in the local government in Kherson. On November 4, it became known that she deceased at age of 34. She was doused with sulphuric acid in July 2018. According to preliminary information, her death was caused by blood clot's detachment, multiple organ failure, and chemical burns.
In February, the investigation into Handziuk's death led to a possible organizer of the murder. The suspect is Vladyslav Manger, the head of Kherson regional council. On February 11, Manger was served with charge papers in Handziuk’s murder. In his turn, Manger said that he would not escape from the country due to suspicion of organizing the murder of Handziuk.
