Ukrainian and foreign special services work on the detention of Oleksy Levin (Moskalenko) suspected in the organization of the attack at public activist Kateryna Handziuk, as Ukrainian News reported citing Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Yury Lutsenko.
“Not only Ukrainian law enforcement bodies but also the special services of our countries-allies are involved in the activity for the detention of him (Oleksy Levin, - 112.international) within the decision of the Interpol and extradite him to Ukraine. I think that it is absolutely possible, according to the information that we possess,” Lutsenko said.
According to him, the Prosecutor General’s Office intends to finish the investigation against Head of Kherson Regional Council Vladyslav Manger up to August 11. He is also suspected in the organization of attack at Handziuk.
On November 4, 2018, it became known that Kateryna Handziuk died at the age of 34. She was doused with sulphuric acid in July this year. According to preliminary information, her death was caused by blood clot's detachment.
Besides, the doctors specified the cause of death; it was due to multiple organ failure and chemical burns.
All the accused in case of Handziuk murder pleaded guilty. Later Pokrovsky district court in Dnipropetrovsk region has approved the agreements with the investigation team. Serhiy Torbin, Mykyta Hrabchuk, Viktor Horbunov, Vyacheslav Vyshnevsky, and Volodymyr Vasyanovych got their sentences. All were sentenced under the three articles of Criminal Code, namely 'deliberate grave bodily injury, planned and caused by the group of persons'.
