Vladyslav Manger, the Chairman of Kherson Region Council, suspected of ordering Handziuk’s murder was hospitalized due to hear problems before the court session on the prolongation of his arrest, as Unian reported, referring to Halyna Lyashevska, the Press Secretary of Kherson Region Council.

According to her, Manger is in stationary medical treatment.

“He has heart issues. I don’t know the precise diagnosis. I know that Vladyslav Manger felt bad on April 5, the day when he started using an electronic monitor,” Lyashevska said.

In his turn, Manger’s lawyer stated that the scheduled session of Shevchenkivsky District Court will probably be postponed.

“I don’t have any information about cancellation or postponement of the meeting. I think that the session will be held, but only to decide on the postponement, as Manger can’t be present at the meeting,” the lawyer supposed.

On March 6, Vladyslav Manger, the suspect in the organization of murder of activist Kateryna Hanzdiuk, has been suspended from duty for a month

On February 11, Vladyslav Manger was served with charge papers in Handziuk’s murder. In his turn, Manger said that he would not escape from the country due to suspicion of organizing the murder of Handziuk.

28 January, Kateryna's father Viktor Handziuk issued a statement in which he said that he suspected three people of having organized his daughter’s killing. He identified both the three high-ranking officials and the parties they were affiliated with, these being Manger, from Tymoshenko’s Batkivshchyna, the Head of the Kherson Regional Administration Andriy Hordeyev and his Deputy, Yevhen Ryshchuk, both of whom are from the Bloc of (President and presidential candidate) Petro Poroshenko.

Prosecutor General stated there was no evidence of Hordeyev’s involvement in Handziuk’s murder. He did, however, say that Ryshchuk was being checked for any involvement in the murder, while also asserting that there was no proof of his “being aware of the plan of Manger and the other’s involved in Handziuk’s killing.” He added that there was evidence “suggesting probable corrupt activities linked with the burning of the forest by the Deputy Head of the Kherson Regional State Administration.”

The fact that Lutsenko finds evidence of the involvement of Tymoshenko’s entourage and does not find evidence of Poroshenko’s associates involvement might mean that the case is adjusted to the pre-election struggle (presidential elections in Ukraine are scheduled for March 31, 2019). In addition, a few days ago pro-SBU (for which read, pro-Poroshenko) far-right organization C14, included in the American terrorist base, came with rubber-bullet handguns, knives, and Teren 4 pepper spray (carrying of which requires special permission) to Tymoshenko’s meeting, held in Kyiv downtown, allegedly to discuss with Yulia Tymoshenko “who killed Handziuk.”

On November 4, 2018, it became known that Kateryna Handziuk died at the age of 34. She was doused with sulphuric acid in July this year. According to preliminary information, her death was caused by blood clot's detachment.
