The man who detonated two grenades near Lisna metro station on March 6 is a former Berkut officer. This was reported by the press secretary of the Security Service Olena Hitlianska to 112.ua.
“This was a special operation of the Security Service. Our officers tried to detain an arms trader; measures of the investigation were being taken. The offender turned out to be a police officer with connection to the former Berkut. When he understood that there were Security Service officers who intend to arrest him, he threw the grenade and ran away,” Hitlianska noted.
She added that law enforcers opened criminal proceedings regarding an attempted murder of a law enforcement officer. The investigation continues.
