One of the topics of the meeting of governments heads of Ukraine and Greece Volodymyr Groysman and Alexis Tsipras was the issue of security aspects, including the situation in eastern Ukraine and the implementation of Minsk agreements.
This was reported by the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
Greece is attentively following the situation in eastern Ukraine and stands for peaceful resolving of Donbas conflict. Minsk agreements are one of the most important instruments that will help to resolve the conflict, according to the Prime Minister of Greece.
“Around 100 thousand of ethnic Greeks live on the territory of Ukraine and Greece is wishes that their place of residence is safe,” he noted.
It is also reported that the parties agreed to resume the work of intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation, which will intensify the economic cooperation between the countries.
Greece is interested in growing cooperation with Black Sea regions of Ukraine, due to historical, cultural and economic ties with these regions.
Ukraine-Greece business forum will take place today, on February 9.
Earlier it was reported that Greece Prime Minister planned to visit Ukraine on February 8-9. Greek official was invited by Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko.
