The Cabinet of Ministers approved a plan of events to celebrate the 20th anniversary of signing of the Charter on special partnership between Ukraine and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in 2017. The relevant decision was made at the government meeting, Ukrainian News reported.
The Charter was signed in Madrid (Spain) on July 9, 1997
According to the document, NATO allies should support the sovereignty and independence of Ukraine, its territorial integrity, democratic development, economic prosperity and its status as a nuclear-free state, as well as the principle of inviolability of borders as key factors of stability and security in Central and Eastern Europe and on the continent as a whole.
Earlier it was reported that Ukraine-NATO agreements on secret information to take force on June 24. Law on ratification of agreements with NATO on secret data was published today.
