Ukraine’s Government approved the development strategy for the military-industrial complex (MIC) for the period till 2028. This was decided at the Government’s meeting on Wednesday on June 20, as 112.ua reports.
According to the document, the funding will be provided at the level of at least 0,5% GDP, as Ukrainian News reports.
The aim of the strategy is to create conditions for the modernization and rapid development of MIC. Therefore, the Government intends to implement the optimization of the asset management of military-industrial complex companies till 2023. Moreover, they plan to withdraw the ban for foreign capital involvement and conduct activity together with the Ukrainian military enterprises.
The Government wants to privatize state-owned enterprises except those, which are involved in the production of crucial goods.
Besides, it is expected that the Ukrainian aircraft engineering will entrance the African and European market partially, and later – the Asia-Pacific and American markets.
To provide the needs of the African market with a further development towards the American one is a priority.
The strategy also provides the analysis of the shipbuilding concerning the need to restore the productive capacity lost as a result of Crimea’s annexation.
