Without implementation of Minsk agreements, there is a risk of “conflict escalation with numerous victims among civilians and continuous stagnation in the political process”. This was declared by the Foreign Minister of the Federal Republic of Germany Sigmar Gabriel on the web-site of the foreign agency of Germany.

The ceasefire regime in Donbas is being violated; at night on February 22, according to the OSCE, heavy armament was used again in several places along the delimitation line, the Minister said.

He called both sides of the Donbas conflict to fulfill Minsk agreements.

“Most intense negotiations will not be effective if there is not enough political will to realize the agreements,” he said.

“During the Munich Security Conference both Kyiv and Moscow assured that they would use their influence to implement the agreements, achieved by the Trilateral Contact Group on February 15,” he reminded.

Earlier it was reported that Germany called for Normandy Four Foreign Ministers meeting in Munich. The meeting may take place on February 18.
