William Vendli, the General Secretary of World Conferences of Religions for Peace will visit Ukraine. Newsroom reports this, citing the statement of Oleksandr Feldman, the Kharkiv MP, founder of the Institute of Human Rights and the Prevention of Extremism and Xenophobia after his meeting with Vendli during the work visit to New York.
According to Feldman, the discussion of Vendli's visit to Ukraine was one of the topics of the work visit. The public figures discussed the problems of the inter-religious relations that exist in the modern world and the ways to build a peaceful and tolerant inter-religious dialogue.
'The work of Mister William to develop the tolerant and peaceful society is hard to overestimate. I am sure that his visit to our country will further the establishment of the inter-religious dialogue between the representatives of all religions that exist in Ukraine', Feldman stated.
According to him, it is pre-agreed that Mister Vendli will visit Ukraine in October-November 2017.
Religions for Peace is the international religious pacifist organizations with the headquarters in New York. It has the consultative status with the UNESCO, UNISEF and the UN economic and social council. The most affluent public figures of the mass religions from 92 countries of the world are the members of the organization. William Vendli is the General Secretary since 1994.
