Russian “Gazprom” has offered to extend the current contracts with “Naftogaz-Ukraine” without holding of consultations during the trilateral meeting of Ukraine, Russia and European Commission as 112 Ukraine reported citing Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin.
“Mr. Miller reported three times that they are ready to extend the existent contracts…He said that these contracts can be extended without any expert consultation. I tried to question what he means and he confirmed that literary, these contracts will be extended and the work will continue,” Klimkin said.
He also noted that Ukraine is ready to sign the agreement on the transit in accordance with the European rules, which country will implement in the Ukrainian legislation.
According to Interfax-Ukraine, the trilateral meeting on gas issues between Russia, Ukraine and European Commission in Brussels has ended.
The bilateral negotiations of Russia-European Commission and Ukraine- European Commission took place before the meeting. The negotiations were held with the participation of “Naftogaz-Ukraine” Executive Director Yury Vitrenko, Russian Energy Minister Alexandr Novak and “Gazprom” Head Alexey Miller.
Earlier Vitrenko claimed that the European Commission considers the possibility of complete rejection from the natural gas and other hydrocarbons.
