The FSB of the Russian Federation stated that the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people was preparing protests in the occupied Crimea. They allegedly did it together with the Ukrainian special services. This was reported by the press service of the FSB.
“FSB of the Russian Federation as part of investigation of criminal case concerning three citizens of Russia involved in sabotage on the gas pipeline around the Perevalny settlement of the Crimea Republic, received information on communication of the forbidden in Russia Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people organization with special services of Ukraine. According to the detainees, in addition to participating in the preparation of the sabotage, the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine tried to organize protests by the Crimean Tatar population through the Mejlis,” the statement reads.
The Russian special services stated that the sabotage was allegedly organized by the territorial division of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine in Kherson - the Tavria operational service with the participation of the Mejlis organization.
The FSB also named "everyone involved" in the sabotage.
As it was reported earlier, on September 4 in the occupied Crimea security officers carried out a search at the deputy chairman of Mejlis. Nariman Dzhelyalov himself was detained. Later it became known that Dzhelyalov was suspected under Part 1 of Art. 281 "Diversion" of the Criminal Code, "court" arrested the deputy chairman of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people for two months.
Together with Nariman Dzhelyalov, a "court" controlled by the occupying power of Crimea sent two more Crimean Tatars to the pre-trial detention center for almost two months - cousins Aziz and Asan Akhtemov.
