Russian FSB has intercepted seven vessels following the route Mariupol - Berdiansk in the Sea of Azov during past 24 hours. The chief editor of BlackSeaNews Andriy Klymenko reported this on Facebook page.
“The monitoring group of ‘Maidan of Foreign Affairs’ and ‘Institute of Black Sea Strategic Research and BlackSeaNews report: on July 8 from 00:30 to 23:00, the motor boats of coast guard of Russia’s FSB have intercepted six vessels, heading to/from Berdiansk or Mariupol. Another vessel was intercepted at around 01:00 am on July 9 in the same area,’ Klymenko wrote.
He stressed that it was a new record, as on July 4, there were five such ships.
The Vice Speaker off the Parliament Oksana Syroid believes that the government and president of the country are to blame for this.
“Today, Russian FSB in the Sea of Azov detained seven trade vessels heading from or to Mariupol or Berdiansk…This threat was predictable but nobody worked on it. This threat means the growing Russian aggression; this is the continuation of the war. And today these facts indicate that the President of Ukraine, as well as the government for these years have done nothing to prevent or minimize it. And this is personal responsibility of the president of Ukraine as the Supreme Commander, ” Syroid said.
As it was reported earlier, the Naval Forces of Ukraine state the tense situation in the Black Sea and Sea of Azov. The Commander of Navy Ihor Voronchenko stressed that it was about ignoring the norms of international maritime law by the Russian Federation, as well as the continuing annexation of Ukrainian economic zone in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov, "especially in the Sea of Azov," as he said.
