Kyiv resident is accused of fraud and drug trafficking

The occupation authorities of Crimea in the course of checking documents at Armyansk checkpoint Ukrainian citizen from Kyiv who allegedly was on the federal wanted list on suspicion of fraud and drug trafficking was taken in custody. It was reported by ITAR-TASS with reference to the press service of the regional border guard of the Federal Security Service of Russian Federation in Crimea.

The date of the arrest is not specified.

"FSB Border Service detained a man who was on the federal wanted list, who intended to hide from Russian investigative bodies abroad," the report said.

It is noted that Kyiv resident, born in 1987, was detained at Armyansk checkpoint in the north of the occupied peninsula.

"In particular, it was established that he was the defendant in the criminal case under part 2 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud) and was under travel restrictions. In addition, he was wanted by the police of Feodosia, who suspects him in the illegal sale of drugs and psychotropic substances, "the FSB says.

It is reported that the measure of restraint for the Ukrainian has been changed to detention.

As it was reported earlier the occupation authorities of Crimea detained Crimean Tatars incriminating them the membership in the religious and extremist organization on October 2.

According to the press service, the detained people were the members of ‘Tabligi Jamaat’ organization that is recognized as religious and extremist in the territory of Russia. The Russian investigative bodies opened a criminal proceeding under the part 1, 2, article 282.2 of the Criminal Code of Russia (Organization of activity of extremist organization).
