Ukrainians should not relax in the fight against coronavirus

The Health Ministry predicts that the fourth wave of coronavirus infection may start in Ukraine soon as ZN.UA reported citing Health Minister Maksym Stepanov.

“Another battle with Covid. We predict that we can have the fourth wave of coronavirus. We should do everything to make this strike not tough,” Stepanov said.

He also added that it is not time to relax in the fight against coronavirus.

Earlier, Maksym Stepanov stated that Ukraine has emerged from the third wave of coronavirus. According to him, over the first weeks, the virus developed rapidly, conquering entire cities all over Ukraine; late March and early April witnessed the peak of the epidemic at that point. Some 44,000 patients required oxygen therapy during this period of time. Last year, the bed capacity of hospitals all over the country made only 3,500 beds. 

As we reported, 2,208 new cases of coronavirus infection were registered in Ukraine in 24 hours. Particularly, 89 children and 34 medics got infected.

During the past day, 1,084 people were hospitalized; 606 patients were discharged; 119 lethal cases reported and 8,617 people recovered. 21,974 tests were held.

Since the beginning of the pandemic: 2,124,535 people got infected; 1,777,370 patients recovered; 46,631 lethal cases reported; 9,682,286 PCR tests were held.
