The agreement was reached to clear up the mines at 20 areas near the front line and hold the disengagement of forces in four new places in Donbas. Such decisions were made during the extra video-session of the Trilateral Contact Group, as the President’s Office reported.
During the meeting of the task group on security issues, Chief Monitor of the OSCE Yaşar Halit Çevik noted that after the implementation of the extra measures on the consolidation of the ceasefire regime since July 27, the truce is observed; at the beginning of August, the observers did not spot any violation.
Besides, during 24 hours, no casualties among Ukrainian forces were reported in Donbas.
Moreover, in the security sphere, the group reached the agreements of mine-clearance of 30 areas within the renewed plan provided by the communiqué of Normandy Format summit in Paris dated December 9, 2019. It will allow us to progress in the fulfillment of the agreements of the leaders of the Normandy Format reached in Paris and approximate to the holding of another summit in Berlin.
Besides, the Ukrainian side supported the necessity to develop the framework decision of the Trilateral Contact Group on demining and it will allow to optimize further work on this issue.
The Ukrainian delegation also supported the offers on four new areas for disengagement of forces.
During the discussion of the results of the work of the economic group, it was specified that the Ukrainian enterprises on water supply will continue to constantly supply fresh water to the Ukrainians who live in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
Moreover, within the humanitarian task group, the progress was reached in the issue of the mutual release of detained people.
The Ukrainian side underlined once more the fulfillment of all agreements on approval of the lists for the mutual release of detained people and confirmed information about persons requested by the partakers of the consultations. Ukraine expects that mirror and symmetrical actions from the other side.
To intensify the Minsk Talks process, the Ukrainian side in task group on political issues, underlined the necessity fulfill Paris agreements of the Normandy Format leaders, particularly, work on the implementation of Steinmeier formula.
As we reported, Donetsk and Luhansk regions need to be granted the status of free economic zones. This idea was voiced by the head of the Ukrainian delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) in Minsk Leonid Kravchuk.
