Madeleine Albright, the former U.S. Secretary of State and Board Chairman of the U.S. National Democratic Institute, has stressed the importance of providing defensive weapons to Ukraine during the meeting with Petro Poroshenko, according to the website of presidential administration.

"Madeleine Albright stressed the importance of providing defensive weapons to Ukraine with a view to ensure the legal right of a sovereign state to self-defense under article 51 of the UN Charter," the message reads.
