Border guard officers detected former Ukrainian military officer at the administrative border who sided with the occupants. This was reported by the press service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
The man was on his way from Crimea and tried to pass through Kalanchak checkpoint, he carried an invalid passport. He came by foot and showed a passport of Russian Federation at the passport control, it is noted.
As it turned out, the document was issued in 2014 on the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea, that’s why this citizen was invited for further checks. Later it was established that the man was a citizen of Ukraine, a resident of one of the cities on the mainland. Previously, he was on the contract service in the military unit of the Coast Guard Forces of Ukraine in Crimea, and after its annexation he left to serve in the Navy of Russian Federation. In 2015, having resigned from the service, he worked on construction in Crimea.
Deserter left the ranks of the occupants, having realized that he had made a mistake because the promises of "new employer" did not correspond to the real situation.
Fears that investigation will be held concerning his situation did not stop him as he was determined to return to his family which is on the mainland Ukraine.
Earlier it was reported that next year Ukraine will win and return its occupied territories, according to US Senator McCain. Speaking about Putin, he said, that he would never be able to deprive Ukrainians of freedom.
