Rescuers liquidate two centers of ignition on a total area of ​​25 hectares in the Chornobyl zone. This was reported by the State Emergency Service (SES). 

On April 5, the extinguishing of two outbreaks continues in the exclusion zone, namely: between the village of Vladymyrivka and the village of Oktyabrske of the Kotovsky forestry on an area of ​​about 20 hectares. Near the village of Ragivka of the Kotovsky forestry on an area of ​​about 5 hectares... The radiation background is within normal limits," the report reads.

It the same time, the Acting Head of the State Ecological Inspectorate of Ukraine Yegor Firsov on his Facebook page said that 100 hectares were on fire.

"Firefighters continue to fight the forest fire that occurred in Chornobyl zone. The situation is complicated. The fire spread to the zone of 20 hectares but in general burns more than 100 hectares. As is often happened, first someone set fire to the grass and then the fire spread to the trees ... There is bad news - in the center of the fire, radiation is above normal. As you can see in the video, the device shows 2.3 at a rate of 0.14. But this situation is only in the center of the fire," Firsov said.

As we reported before, in Kyiv, on Khreshchatyk, a strong fire broke out in an underground collector where electrical cables are located.

"The fire occurred in an underground collector that contains electric cables of various voltages. To de-energize electric wires emergency crew of DTEK "Kyiv Electric Grids" was called. Due to the high voltage of electric cables, firefighters could not immediately begin to liquidate the fire," the message reads.
