Ukraine's MFA hopes new German government to supply Kyiv with arms

According to Kuleba, the current government will not change its position toward the military aid for Ukraine

Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba expects that the new government of German, which will be formed after the parliamentary elections in autumn, will agree to provide arms to Ukraine as RBK-Ukraine reported.

“This government will not change its position. Already in autumn, on the results of the elections, Germany will have a new government. We work on the change of the position on this issue by the new government,” Kuleba said.

Earlier, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky told at the interview for the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung reproached Germany for refusal to provide weapons to Ukraine.

It took place after co-leader of Alliance '90/The Greens Robert Habeck stated during his visit to Kyiv that Ukraine cannot be refused in right to get the defensive arms. Besides, he earlier stated that Ukraine fight not only for itself but Ukraine also protects the security of Europe.

However, Speaker of the German government Steffen Seibert stated that Germany would not give Ukraine the weapons but it is ready to provide political support in the solution of the Donbas conflict.

Moreover, Foreign Minister of Germany Heiko Maas stated that arms supplies will not help resolve the conflict in Donbas.
