Foreign direct investment in the first half of the year increased by $ 2.7 billion over the same period last year. This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal on his Facebook page.

"According to the law on "investments", UkraineInvest has already received applications for almost $ 2 billion. Agricultural processing - 9 projects for $ 534 million. Ukraine is actively moving from a raw materials economy to a country that processes its own products and leaves added value here," Denys Shmyhal said.

Also, according to him, 5 logistics projects worth $ 531 million are planned, in particular, in the field of transport and tourism - projects worth $ 138 million.

"The corresponding initiatives are only the beginning of the implementation of the government's new investment strategy. By the way, in the first half of the year, foreign direct investment increased by $ 2.7 billion compared to the same period last year," the prime minister added.

He so noted the growth of exports.

"The State Statistics Service released new data on the export of Ukrainian goods. In January-July, an increase of 33.4%. Exports to the European Union increased by almost 50%. Significant growth is going on in almost all major sectors of the economy. For example, the export of the engineering industry grew by almost 30%" he said.

Earlier, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal claimed that he supports the idea of introduction of dual citizenship in this country. 

"I'll share my personal view with you. Dual citizenship is a sign of a civilized country. In many civilized countries, dual citizenship is a common thing," he said.
