Fiscal Service Head detained for bribery

The law enforcers detained the Deputy Head of Ukraine’s Fiscal Service General Department in Sumy region and the Chief State Inspector of Ukraine’s Fiscal Service General Department in Sumy region for bribery in the amount of $2,260, as Andriy Lysenko, the General Prosecutor’s Office Spokesperson, wrote on Facebook.

“The pre-trial investigation determined that the Deputy Head of Ukraine’s Fiscal Service General Department in Sumy region under the preliminary collusion with the Chief State Inspector of Ukraine’s Fiscal Service General Department in Sumy region using their job positions received $2260 from an entrepreneur for reducing the sum of additional taxes, which are allegedly unpaid, and fines from $37,750 to $940,” Lysenko wrote.

The detention took place within the pre-trial investigation under a criminal proceeding in accordance with the articles with Ukraine’s Criminal Code on bribery for the officials right after they received the improper advantage.

Now, the pre-trial investigation is deciding on a preventive measure for the suspects in the form of detention in custody.
