Today, on October 2, wife of the President of Ukraine Olena Zelenska visited the museum of Tower of London and signed the Memorandum on the creation of the first-ever Ukrainian language audio-guide in the territory of Britain as the president’s press service reported.
“In accordance with the provisions of the Memorandum, the administration of the Historic Royal Palaces (London) supports the initiative of the first lady and makes a commitment to introduce soon Ukrainian language audio-guide at one of the most significant places not only in the United Kingdom but in the world – London Tower,” the message said.
Besides, the first lady agreed about the readiness of the British partners to continue to cooperate with Ukraine and spread the practice of the introduction of audio-guides in the Ukrainian language in other museums and historic royal palaces of the country.
“For Ukraine and personally for me, the audio-guides in the Ukrainian language are not only about convenience and accessibility. It is, first of all, about the acceptance of Ukraine in the world, about its voice that could be heard soon in London Tower,” Zelenska noted.
“I am sincerely grateful to everyone who supported my initiative and laid the foundation for the sound of the Ukrainian language in one of the most outstanding and famous places of the world,” she said.
On June 12, Zelenska received a positive result of a test for Covid-19. Then, she felt fine and did not reveal any symptoms of the disease. On June 16, she was taken to hospital with pneumonia. On June 30, it was reported that she feels better but continues to receive antimicrobial therapy.
On July 3, Olena Zelenska recovered from the coronavirus and was discharged from a hospital.
