First session of new Verkhovna Rada to be held on August 29

The first session of the Verkhovna Rada of the 9th convocation will take place on August 29, as the preparatory group decided during the meeting broadcasted by 112 Ukraine on August 9.

“The ceremonial meeting will be held on August 29, 2019 as is the first plenary session of Verkhovna Rada,” Dmytro Raumkov said.

As it was reported, the leader of the headquarters of the party Oleksandr Korniyenko said that political party Servant of the People supports the idea to open the new convocation of the Parliament on the Independence Day, on August 24. Yet, it is impossible, as according to the legislation, MPs have 20 days to resign from previous positions.

The first meeting of the group on preparation of the first session of Verkhovna Rada of the 9th convocation took place on August 9. 

The representatives of Servant of the People party – 17 MPs, Opposition Platform – For Life – 3 MPs, Batkivshchyna  – 2, European Solidarity – 2, and Holos –  1 joined the group.
