This Friday, January 5, a meeting on the new stage of the prisoner exchange between Ukraine and LDPR militants will take place, as Deputy Minister of Justice Denys Chernyshov told 112.ua.
“It’s a very big job and a big process, in which many state bodies, civic organizations that participate in this work are engaged. For Jan 5, Gerashchenko (Vice Speaker of the Parliament Iryna Gerashchenko, - 112.int) scheduled another meeting of everyone involved in this process, and the issues of possible exchange will be discussed and documents prepared,” he said.
The official also noted that after Jan 9, the issue of renewing the documents of those released from captivity at the end of 2017 will start to be solved.
Earlier President Pedro Poroshenko ordered to begin the new negotiation process on the prisoner exchange. One of the possible formulas for exchange is “74 for 29”, where 29 Ukrainians will be exchanged for 74 LDPR militants. On Jan 10, the possible exchange will be discussed in the Minsk Trilateral Contact Group meeting.
