On September 28, Ukraine launched the first ever container train to China. A 43 forty-foot containers with lumber will cover 10,000 km, the press service of Ukrzaliznytsia reports. The train will cover almost 10,000 kilometers through the territory of four countries. The estimated travel time is 18 days.
“In mid-September, we received from China the 50th container train with imported cargo. Today [on September 28] we send the first container train with Ukrainian cargo to China. We plan that such trains will become regular,” the statement reads.
As it was reported earlier, the first container train from the Chinese city of Xi'an to Slovak Dunajská Streda passed through the territory of Ukraine on September 27-29, 2019. It consisted of 44 forty-foot containers.
And in early January last year, the first container train from China to Poland passed through Ukraine.
