For the first time since 2016, a female serviceman passed the selection of the Special Operations Forces Qualification Course of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, according to the training center of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
"A cadet must find the strength and fully combine spirit, intelligence, and physical dexterity to achieve this goal regardless of gender. The challenge of overcoming the grueling two-week selection has become insurmountable, but only for the muscles, to this day. This example of a woman`s invincibility finally approved equal opportunities for those who are ready to master all the elements, to become the tip of each of them," a statement said.
As it was reported, the Ukrainian Parliament adopted draft law No.3553 in the second reading and in general. The document allows the Ukrainian military to enlist reservists without announcing the draft.
Head Office of the General Staff reported that as of October 2020, 31,000 women served in Ukrainian army. This is 12% of the total number of servicemen of the Armed Forces. 4,500 officers, about 1,300 ensigns, about 24,000 sergeants, sergeants, soldiers, and more than 1,000 cadets are among them.
