The first death of a person infected with a coronavirus was recorded, the Health Ministry reported.

A 71-year-old woman from the Zhytomyr region who was hospitalized on March 12 with a laboratory-confirmed case of Сovid-19 died today.

The relatives of the woman and persons with whom she contacted stay under the supervision of doctors.

The Ministry of Health of Ukraine notes that a woman died was in the group of risk.

In accordance with the global tendency, the older generation of people is most susceptible to COVID-19 infection with fatal consequences.

According to the results of the analysis and modeling of the possible variant of the spread of the coronavirus COVID-2019 in Ukraine by Ukraine's National Security and Defence Council, the probability of disease for people from 10 to 39 years is 0.2%, they are in the zone of least risk. For those of 40-49 year old - 0.3%; for 50-59 year olds - 1.3%; for 60-69 year olds - 3.4%, for 70-79 year olds - 7.8%. In the zone of greatest risk are elderly people aged over 80, this figure makes 13.5% for them.

As it was reported, Ukraine is closing its border for foreigners for two weeks.
