First batch of coal from the U.S. arrived in Ukraine

Bulker will be unloaded within three days

Ocean Ambitious ship carrying 62,000 tons of thermal coal from the United States for the thermal power station PJSC Centerenergo docked at the transhipping platform Port Yuzhny at 02:15 on Wednesday. This was reported by the press service of the port.

It is noted that stevedores plan to unload the imported cargo within three days.

According to the report, the Port Yuzhny in the coming week plans to take four ships with coal, totaling over 295 thousand tons of coal: one ship for Centrenergo, two - for DTEK and one for Euroreconstruction LLC.

"Today we received good news that the first batch of American anthracite coal is already in Ukraine. The cooperation between the member company of the Xcoal Energy & Resources Chamber and PJSC Centrenergo is a significant step for the development of the Ukrainian -American trade relations," Andriy Hunder, the president of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine commented.

As it was reported earlierĀ 700 thousand tons of coal from USA to be supplied to Ukraine, according to theĀ Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United States Valery Chaly. The first ship with thermal coal from the US should arrive in Ukraine by mid-September.
