All the shopping malls and other public places of the Ukrainian capital will be checked for the correspondence to the fire security rules. This was reported by the deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration Petro Panteleev with the reference to Mayor’s instruction.
The check is aimed at prevention of such tragedies as one that happened in Russian Kemerovo, as the administration noted.
“I draw attention of the owners of the shopping malls and other places with a lot of people to the necessity to ensure reliable operation of the firefighting systems,” Panteleev said.
To organize joint checks, the Panteleev Kyiv administration has turned to the Emergency Service.
Until the end of this year in Ukraine, there is a moratorium on regular checks of business by the state bodies in Ukraine.
At the same time, extraordinary checks are allowed in some situations, including in emergency cases.
As it was reported earlier, the shopping mall caught fire in the Russian city of Kemerovo on March 25. In one of the cinema halls in the mall the bodies of four children were found. According to the report, children were poisoned with products of burning. Seven more children are listed as suffered from the fire.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the fire appeared on the fourth floor, where a cinema and children's playgrounds are located. A hundred visitors and employees of the complex were evacuated from the shopping center. According to preliminary data, as a result of the fire, 4 people died and 26 were injured.
