Fire at chemical factory in Ukraine's Kalush is put out, no casualties observed

A fire occurred at ‘Karpatnaftokhim’ factory in Kalush city in Ivano-Frankivsk region, the press office of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reports.  

‘The cause of the fire is being established. No casualties were observed,’ reads the message. 

It is noted that 20 units of equipment and 110 rescuers were involved in putting the fire out.

January 12, the emergency service received a call about the fire at the ‘Karpatnaftokhim’ chemical factory in Kalush. Upon arrival at the scene, the rescuers found that flare combustion was occurring from the pipeline system over the area of about four-square meters and a height of 15 meters.  

The fire was localized the same day at 11:48 p.m.
