A perpetrator, who set the building of Epicenter store in Pervomaisk on fire, faces life imprisonment as Deputy Head of the National Police in Mykolaiv region Serhiy Shaikhet reported.
A 37-year-old man is suspected in the attempted murder and intentional destruction or damaging property. Earlier, a man was prosecuted.
It is reported that a man came to the center with a knife and an ax. At the paint and varnish section, he started to pour flammable liquids. One of the center’s security guards tried to detain him; however, a man attacked him with an ax, set the center on fire and fled.
Other security guards and the employees of police safety caught and detained the perpetrator outside and one more security guard was attacked by an ax. The police was called to the site.
The law enforcers continue to work at the site.
As we reported, in the Mykolaiv region, in Pervomaisk City, Epicenter store is on fire. Later, it was reported that the arsonist of the Epicenter store was detained in the Mykolaiv region.
On January 21, in Kharkiv, the two-story building was caught on fire. It was reequipped for the nursing home. The tragedy resulted in the death of 15 people.
