In Ukraine, two amendments to the Tax and Customs Codes on state support for cinematography in Ukraine entered into force on December 3. They were published in the official newspaper The Voice of Ukraine on Saturday.
Cinematography was granted a remission of VAT taxation until January 1, 2023 when it comes to the production of national films and foreign films voiced in Ukrainian, works on making archives of national films and films created on the territory of Ukraine. This also applies to replication of national and foreign films voiced in Ukrainian; dubbing or voice-сover of films in Ukrainian, as well as works on the preservation and restoration of the national cinematographic heritage.
Temporary public service broadcasters are temporarily exempted from VAT when demonstrating or distributing national films.
Producers of Ukrainian films until January 1, 2023 will be able to import into Ukraine a number of goods without paying duty.
As it was reported earlier Ukrainian-Slovakian film ‘Line' won the Golden Atlas award at the 18th International Film Festival in Arras, France as the press service of the State Film of Ukraine reported.
‘The jury headed by Christian Carion awarded the film with the Golden Atlas, the Grand Prix of the festival. Moreover, the young jury of the festival recognized the film as the best one’ the message said.
The International Film Festival is held in Arras since 2000. The European films earlier not represented in France are offered to participate in it. The festival lasts from 3 until 12 November.
