The law enforcers detained the owner of Tokyo Star hotel in Odesa Vadym Chorny where the fire had happened on the night of August 17. A report of suspicion in committing the crime under the article Violation of fire safety requirements is being prepared now, as the press service of the Prosecutor's Office in Odesa region reports that.
Vadym Chorny was detained within the pre-trial investigation by detectives of the National Police in Odesa region.
"At the moment the Prosecutor's Office is preparing the report of suspicion to the person for violation of fire safety requirements in the hotel, which has led to the death of nine people and request about imposing a preventive measure," the message reads.
As we reported earlier, the fire broke out in Odesa Tokyo Star hotel on the night of August 17, where nine people died and another ten were hospitalized. Four persons remain in critical condition.
The owner of the hotel said he would be fully responsible for the fire in case his guilt was proved by the law enforcers.
